An earthquake measuring 6.5 degrees on Richter scale shakes northern California coast, according to information from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). There have been some damage to buildings and power outages.
Some cities affected were Eureka, Petrolia, Arcata and Ferndale.
The earthquake's epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean. But the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), eliminated the possibility of tidal waves.
The quake was felt from the coast of San Francisco to the border with Oregon. Half an hour later there was another movement of 3.6 degrees. Previous days already found another replica of lower intensity.
According to some experts in this area is the Mendocino Triple Junction, an area where three plates and collide with the most seismically active San Andreas Fault.
